Augustana music professor and pianist Dr. Milton Schlosser will grace the stage in support of the Wetaskiwin Music Festival on Friday, April 25th. The festival, now in its 35th year, plays a key role in music education and community in Wetaskiwin and surrounding communities.

I am Shumaila, a second year PhD student in ethnomusicology in the University of Alberta’s Department of Music and I come from Karachi in the Sind province of Pakistan. As a teenager, music was a very close and trustworthy friend during the very difficult moments when society and family pressure challenged my independence of thought and what I should pursue as a career.

Professor Michael Frishkopf has been officially appointed as the Maligu Naa, or "chief of goodwill", by the people of Tolon, Ghana. This honour is in recognition of his outstanding development work in Tolon and surrounding areas, where the ethnomusicologist has been busy at work promoting health, education, and social empowerment.
